Talking, Thinking, Dancing gathers industry professionals together in the Midlands to explore choreographic research, dance performance, and sector development from the region and beyond.

The Midlands is home to a long-established rich and diverse dance ecology. Fabric’s 10-year strategy, Dance Moves People, places artists and communities at the centre of our vision, strengthening visibility, expanding access, and deepening the connections that allow dance to thrive. Talking, Thinking, Dancing reflects this commitment by creating space for people to meet, exchange ideas, and imagine new possibilities for dance together.

Talking, Thinking, Dancing is one expression of that ambition. It is a space to gather, share ideas, experience extraordinary choreography, build relationships and imagine what comes next for dance—together.

Following a successful pilot in 2025, Talking, Thinking, Dancing now becomes a biennial event, taking place every first week of February from 2027.

Designed for presenters, producers, programmers, artists and sector leaders, the programme will bring together performances, choreographic practice, conversations, networking and shared meals—creating time not only to see work, but to build the relationships and ideas that shape future collaborations.
