At Fabric, we strive to make our artist residencies accessible and inclusive. We aim to create working conditions that centre the care and dignity of all.

We want to reduce any barriers that this opportunity may present to you and are open and willing to learn.

We commit to opening our application processes at least 8 weeks ahead of the deadline and ensuring it is distributed as far and wide as possible to be noticeable across various platforms. We accept applications in written, video, and audio formats.

Support workers and/or access equipment/technology are intended to be funded via Access to Work* funding if relevant to you. We understand that under current circumstances, this fund is not very accessible and waiting times are long.

For application processes, we have a small budget allocation for access support and can offer up to £150 for those in need. This could include working with a support worker, working with a scribe or a BSL interpreter to help you create an application (if they are not already available to you through Access to Work). Although we understand time and skillset can also create barriers to application processes, we do not consider producer time or paying for your own time to apply as an access support.

If you’re unable to gain support from Access to Work, then access costs can be included within your application. These must be outlined within the application budget. We have a total budget for all residencies costs including access per year that we can allocate from our investment.

Please email artists@fabric.dance to request application support. Briefly tell us the current barriers to applying for this opportunity, the amount you are requesting (up to £150) and how this will support you.
