The International Briefing: Egypt panel discussion took place on Wednesday 24 November 2021, exploring the local art scene in Egypt with industry experts.

Too often international touring only allows the briefest experience of a place and doesn’t leave much time to connect to the people or cultures. This panel discussion is designed to give you an insight into what it’s like to be an artist or producer in Egypt and how it differs to the UK, to ensure you’re in the know before you go.

Panel includes:

– Ahmed El-Attar, Director of Orient Productions & D-CAF

– Cathy Costain MBE, Head of Arts, British Council Egypt

– Shaymaa Shoukry, independent dance artist

Please note: The internet connection during the recording was intermittent. At times this impacts on the quality of the video and audio in the recording but not throughout. The hosts expressed that this is one of the realities in Egypt and should be considered before embarking on remote collaborations.

Produced in partnership with Farnham Maltings.
