We’re celebrating 10 Years of our Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) programme.

For a decade the scheme has been identifying and developing exceptional young dance talent from across the East Midlands. As part of our celebrations we will be shining a light on 10 Dance4 CAT student stories from students past and present.

When were you on the Dance4 Centre for Advanced Training programme?2010 -2017

What did the CAT programme teach you? What were some of your best experiences?The CAT programme taught me how to be creative and really encouraged me to do so. It also taught me how working with different people can bring about new and great things!

It gave me opportunities to work with so many artists, including Theo Clinkard, Lea Anderson, Gary Clarke and so many more. Each artist brought a new and unique way of working and have all helped me grow into the artist I am today.

Where are you now?I am training at London Contemporary Dance School.

What are your plans/aspirations for the future?I am currently in my last year at LCDS and when I finish I am going to take a break from dancing and hopefully work in the NHS.

What advice would you give someone thinking about joining the CAT programme?DO IT!

CAT gives young people so many opportunities that you can get nowhere else! It is also a place to meet new people, I am still best friends with people from CAT.
