In 2022, Dance4 and DanceXchange are merged to form a new single strategic organisation called FABRIC. As FABRIC, we launched our new residency programme in 2022 to provide artists based in the UK with money, space, and staff time to explore new ideas and support the realisation of projects.

There were two strands available to apply for:

OPEN RESEARCH
This opportunity was for research into new ways of thinking about and doing dance, movement, and choreography with an emphasis on ideas that need time and space to explore, test and develop, rather than creation of new work. We were particularly excited to receive proposals that had the potential to engage the public in these processes.

CREATE
This opportunity was for projects that had already undertaken research and development processes and could benefit from a residency to support the final stages of creation. The residency included testing work with the public, developing an outcome that could be presented from April 2023 onward as part of a wider, self-produced tour. Projects needed to already have other partners and funders involved.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
