As part of Green Hustle Festival 2023, we programmed a day of activity in Nottingham.

Green Hustle Festival is a celebration of life and creativity that aims to make the city of Nottingham greener, healthier, and more connected.

The Programme

We took over Old Market Square and King Edwards Park for a fun and joyful day of dance workshops plus an outdoor spectacle for all the family, featuring the sea giant EKO, a 4-metre tall puppet.

Little Movers – for ages 0-10 to explore objects, textures and sounds through movement and storytelling

Next Door Dance – An exciting contemporary dance workshop  for ages 11-17, who love to dance.

Walkabout with Autin Dance Theatre – a chance to meet EKO from the outdoor spectacle Out of the Deep Blue. He roamed around the Old Market Sqaure and led audiences to a family friendly dance workshop

In the afternoon audiences got to watch Out of the Deep Blue by Autin Dance Theatre – a magical story about the power of empathy and collaboration between an ancient sea creature and a dispirited teen. Using dance, movement and masterful pupeteering, this piece dived into the theme of the climate emergency.
