Dan Daw was Dance4’s first artist in residence for 2020. He joined us for 3 weeks between Monday 6 January – Sunday 26 January.

During his residency with us Dan developed his new work, The Dan Daw Show. Often referred to as in inspiration to people simply for getting out of bed in the morning Dan questions this and feels a loss of power from this. Dan’s new work interrogates his newfound relationship to power and explores his loss of power because he is a ‘Crip.’

As part of his residency, Dan led an in-coversation discussion with show director for The Dan Daw Show, Mark Maughan. The in-conversation discussion was specifically aimed at D/deaf and/or disabled people engaging in the arts wolrd as performers/directors/musicians/film makers/visual artists or writer both recreationally or professionally.
