Fat Dance | Dança Gorda – Dance workshop with Jussara Belchior

Location: Nottingham
Venue: FABRIC Space 2

In this dance workshop, Jussara Belchior will guide participants through exercises and activities associated with her research, which is focused on moving together as a group.

The proposition is to bring into friction the similarities that unite us as fat dancers (and as fat people), while at the same time highlighting the particularities that set us apart, in terms of skills and interests.

  • How can we act together?
  • Is it necessary for a group to move in the same way?
  • How can the people in the group alternate between being supporters or leading the action?
  • How can each person collaborate so that the group can carry out an action?

While the session is open to fat people aged 18 and over, prior experience of moving with others in a dance setting would be helpful.

Please be in touch with questions and/or access requirements. Please note: This workshop will be photographed and filmed.
