Breakin’ Foundations – One Day Intensive
Sun 18th Oct 2026, 11:00am
Take your first step into the world of Breakin’, the original dance style of Hip Hop culture, with this exciting one-day intensive designed for complete beginners and dancers looking to sharpen their foundations and refine their technique.
Whether you’ve always wanted to try breaking, are returning to the style, or want to strengthen your understanding of the basics, this immersive masterclass will introduce you to the essential skills, techniques, history, and culture behind one of the world’s most dynamic dance forms.
Led by Jamaal O’Driscoll, this intensive covers the core foundations of Breakin’, including top rock, footwork, freezes, transitions, rhythm, musicality, and movement quality. Through expert guidance and hands-on coaching, you’ll build confidence, coordination, and body awareness while developing the fundamental techniques that underpin the dance.
Whether you’re taking your first steps into Breakin’, looking to refresh your skills, or don’t have the time to commit to weekly classes, this one-day intensive offers a focused, practical, and inspiring introduction to this iconic Hip Hop dance style. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to continue developing in your own time.
To support your learning beyond the workshop, every participant will receive a Breakin’ Fundamentals Workbook featuring the vocabulary, techniques, and key concepts covered throughout the day. Designed as a resource for your own practice, it allows you to revisit what you’ve learned, reinforce your understanding, and continue building your skills long after the masterclass has finished.
Delivered in a supportive and motivating environment, this masterclass is perfect for anyone looking to challenge themselves, develop their movement, and deepen their connection to the culture of Breakin’.
