‘Don’t Play with L(Kn)ives’ is having its online release on December 7th 2022 @ 7PM BST and we hope you can join us!

‘Don’t Play with L(Kn)ives’ is an original hip-hop screendance based on true stories of knife crime in the UK. Bringing together some of the UK’s finest hip-hop dancers, spoken word and original music composition, delivering a poignant message to young people of awareness, prevention and hope.

The Motion Dance Collective was commissioned in 2021 by DanceXchange (now FABRIC) to produce 8 dance-films for Birmingham International Dance Festival. Brooke Milliner was one of the chosen artists and worked in collaboration with Omari ‘Motion’ Carter and the MDC team to produce ‘Don’t Play with L(Kn)ives’.  We are thrilled to say the film has had a successful festival tour thus far and been screened at eight film festivals internationally.  Now we are excited to share the film with you and anyone interested in spreading the message of knife crime prevention.

*For future screening opportunities please contact MDC Producer, Anna at anna@motiondancecollective.com.
