Centre for Advanced Training Admissions Workshops 2026

Young dancers across the Midlands are invited to take their next step in training as our applications are now open for our Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) admissions workshops this July.

Taking place in Birmingham on 4 July and Nottingham on 11 July, the workshops are the first step for young people who want to join Fabric’s nationally recognised CAT programme. A place where curiosity, commitment and creativity meet rigorous dance training.

Fabric’s CAT programme supports talented dancers aged 11–16 who demonstrate potential and passion for contemporary dance and related styles. Through weekly classes, creative projects and performance opportunities, the programme offers young people the chance to deepen their practice, expand their imagination and connect with a community of dancers from across the region.

The admissions workshops are designed to be welcoming, supportive spaces where young dancers have the opportunity to demonstrate their potential by taking part in a practical dance session and creative workshop in front of a selection panel.

Rather than a traditional audition, the admission workshops focus on potential, openness and enthusiasm — looking for dancers who are ready to explore and grow.

Young people interested in joining CAT are encouraged to register for the workshop at the location most convenient for them.

Preparing for CAT: GetSet

For dancers who would like to build confidence before the admissions workshops, our GetSet programme offers a brilliant way to prepare.

GetSet classes are designed to support young dancers who are curious about advanced training, helping them develop technique, creativity and the mindset needed for programmes like CAT. It’s a chance to explore new ways of moving, meet other dancers and arrive at the admissions workshops feeling ready to dive in.
