Fabric invited Artistic Director Alan Lyddiard and Choreographer Tamara McLorg of The Performance Ensemble to collaborate with the Nottingham community, bringing the city’s rich dance history vividly to life.

Dancing on a Clean Sheet of Paper took place as part of nottdance as place, an immersive afternoon exploring nottdance’s past, present, and future through exhibition, live performance, and conversation. Stories, music, and dance, collected directly from the people of Nottingham, were woven together by Alan and Tamara into a unique performance experience.

The event featured the Nottingham Ensemble, a newly formed collective of local performers and community members, sharing their own dance stories and celebrating the vibrant, living heritage of dance in Nottingham.
