James Cousins Company - Rosalind

Set in a modern city – conservative by day, wonderland by night – the curious, courageous heroine Rosalind (modelled on Shakespeare’s headstrong and independent heroine of As You Like It) embarks on a journey of self-discovery, fuelled by love and oppression.

Created in collaboration with Korean dancers and artists, Cousins takes Rosalind’s passion and eloquence beyond words, to somewhere only movement can take you.

James Cousins was the inaugural winner of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Choreography Award in 2012 and since then he and his company have gone from strength to strength, performing across the globe. Rosalind received its world premiere at Seoul Performing Arts Festival.
