The Whole of Me: Preview and Professional Development

Tue 21st Apr 2026, 2:00pm

Location: Nottingham
Venue: Lakeside Arts

A performance preview and professional development event about supporting learning disabled dance artists to lead, choreograph, and create their own work.

Join Anjali Dance Company, Nick McKerrow, and invited guests for an interactive afternoon, which explores lived experience in the creative process, meaningful mentorship and artistic agency. We will discuss the barriers that too often limit leadership pathways in dance and restrict mid-career disabled artists.

What to expect

  • An exclusive work-in-progress preview of The Whole of Me by Nick McKerrow
  • Insight into the creative journey, including research materials and documentary footage
  • Open discussion on access, inclusion, authorship, and leadership
  • Space to connect, reflect, and share ideas (plus a cuppa )

Nick’s solo work has been developed over two years with artistic guidance from Gary Clarke and Rachel Liggitt, and is now ready to be shared with a live audience, alongside an honest unpacking of the process.

Who it’s for

Artists, dancers, students, educators, arts and healthcare professionals, and anyone passionate about building a more equitable and inclusive arts sector.
