Join us online, via Zoom, with established choreographers and performers Gillie Kleiman (UK) and Jussara Belchior Santos (BR), alongside documentary filmmaker Magdalena Hutter (DE), for the unveiling of the work-in-progress screening of the short documentary film about the project Fat Dance I Dança Gorda.

Gillie, Jussara and Magdalena spent two weeks in São Paulo Brazil, and two weeks in Nottingham UK, collaborating with local and national fat dancers. Each residency included research led by Jussara and by Gillie and moments to share the research with the public.

The project has worked through themes related to fat embodiment and choreography, from social matters such as architectural exclusion and solidarity, professional concerns such as training and artistic freedoms, and personal matters of friendship and community, as well as diving into the formal and relational detail of what comes of having only fat artists in collaboration.

The event will be in English and translated in real time in Portuguese.
