Are you a Key Stage 3 or 4 dance teacher, trainee teacher or dance artist looking to develop your dance practice?

In partnership with Birmingham Arts School, join us for a full-day CPD opportunity led by experienced dance professionals from the FABRIC team, focusing on two essential and inspiring areas of dance in education.

Authentic Jazz Dance for Young People (11am – 1pm)

Tutor: Jreena Green

This session explores the roots and evolution of Authentic Jazz, highlighting its impact on styles such as Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballroom, and Ballet. Through gestures like the shoeshine and more, discover how this dynamic form has shaped the language of Western dance — and how to bring it to life in your school setting.

Engaging Boys in Dance (1.30 – 3.30pm)

Tutor: Junior Cunningham

Explore practical strategies for engaging male-identifying students in dance. This workshop offers tools to help develop students’ confidence, communication, physicality, and character through creative and challenging approaches to dance education.

This practical training day is designed to support your curriculum planning and delivery with fresh ideas, inspiring content, and expert guidance. Ideal for teachers, practitioners, and educators passionate about inclusive and high-quality dance experiences for young people.
