We Move in Close Circles is a performance by Orley Quick, Sam Pardes and Salamèche, taking place in Nottingham this October as part of nottdance 2025.

Salamèche are looking for people in Nottingham who might be interested in hosting the performance in their homes on either Thursday 16th, Friday 17th or Saturday 18th October 2025.

The performance takes place in the intimate context of people’s homes, as the perfect site to explore hospitality, care, belonging and control. Since 2023, We Move has been presented in over 20 homes across Nottingham, London, Coventry and Bristol.  

What will responsibilities of the host include?  

• In the weeks prior to the show, having a phone call with the artists to discuss practicalities and what you need to do in preparation for the performance
• To tidy the home in advance of the show, as you would if inviting guests around.
• On the day of the show, to allow the performers access into the home in the early afternoon, giving them time to adapt the work to the piece.
• To prepare some simple food/nibbles and drinks that will be shared with the audience during the performance.  (An honorarium of £100 will be paid to the host to cover expenses.) 

No home is too big or too small; the piece can adapt to fit and respond to any space. 

Audience capacity can be arranged with you directly. You will be allocated a certain number of tickets to invite your family, friends and neighbours, and there will be an allocation available to buy at £5 here

The artists are keenly aware of the intimate nature of people’s homes, and work hard to ensure the home and the host are treated with respect and care. Previous hosts have described the experience as thrilling: enabling them to support contemporary performance, share a unique evening with friends and strangers, and have their home be briefly transformed through live performance. No performance experience is necessary: once the show starts, hosts are welcome to enjoy the show just like the other members of the audience. 

This opportunity is suitable for ages 18 and over.
