“I have been a Dance4 CAT student for almost 4 years now, and I can easily say that it’s one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done.

Looking back, I could never have imagined growing as much as I have as a dancer, but when you join CAT, you begin to find new goals and things to improve as you go, like adding more dynamics to your choreography, or picking up new movement in technique class. I’ve also met so many amazing people while part of CAT that have really inspired me to push myself further. The other CAT students, the dance teachers, practitioners, and the staff at Dance4 all work incredibly hard, which has only added to my own experience, and I’ve loved getting to dance regularly with people who are just as invested in it I am.

The CAT Scheme has definitely added to my potential options after College. I’ve applied and been accepted on the CertHe Contemporary Dance Course at Northern School of Contemporary Dance this year, which means I’ll have a year of dance training to decide between continuing towards a dance career or pursuing English Literature and creative writing at University. I don’t think I would have been able to get as far as I have without CAT and NDDYC, because I’ve learnt so much and jumped so many hurdles to get where I am now, so whatever happens, I’ll definitely miss being a part of it.”
