FABRIC International is delighted to offer bursaries to independent artists and producers who are based in England and working in Dance, to attend an international marketplace or festival that has a strong presenter presence. 

This opportunity is for those who have a desire to work in international contexts and are already exploring, researching and building international connections and can demonstrate a focus in this work.

FABRIC International seeks to create international presenting and research opportunities through cultivating relationships with international commissioners and presenters. To apply, you must have a tour ready work available that you are representing either as lead artist or producer.

FABRIC’s producing team will be present at internationale tanzmesse nrw, and CINARS Biennale 2024. FABRIC will manage delegations from England to these events. 

If neither of these platforms feel suited to you and your work i.e. you have a specific focus such as family work, then you can propose a different platform that you organise and attend independently.  

The proposed marketplace or festival should take place after the date that bursaries are awarded with time to organise (approx. June 2024), and before 31 August 2025.

Access Support

FABRIC strive to make our opportunities accessible to as many people as possible who are eligible. Access needs are not considered within the selection process, but considered once an application has been approved for support.

Please note that support workers and/or access equipment/technology are intended to be funded via Access to Work funding (if support is necessary and relevant to you). There is a budget available if your requirements are not available through Access to Work.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the opportunity, artists and producers needed to: 

  • be independent (i.e. not in receipt of regular funding) 
  • be a dance artist or dance producer with at least 5 years of professional experience 
  • be based in and make work in England 
  • have a tour-ready work suitable for your selected international marketplace 
  • have a strong track record of touring 
  • have started to build your international networks 
  • have an infrastructure in place to enable international touring opportunities 

Please note, that artists who were awarded a FABRIC international bursary in 2022-2023 will not be eligible to apply for this round.
