Location: Nottingham
Venue: iC4C

Visual artist Janhavi Sharma presents Angnaa, a multi-sensory video, sculpture and performance installation that takes inspiration from the various interpretations of the title: the patch of land outside home dedicated to a kitchen garden; a woman’s body; and the imperishable.

The multi-sensory installation reflects on the choreographies of a kitchen garden. From the physical bodily movements around a patch of land, to the metaphorical shufflings of meanings and gender roles, and passing of oral traditions and micro-histories, to the slow/durational changes in seasons – the cosmologies of the garden itself, and the potential eco-political scope of routines of self-care, and self-fulfilment.
