Afro-Contemporary Dance Workshop with Marikiscrycrycry

Location: Nottingham
Venue: iC4C

This workshop by Marikiscrycrycry fuses elements of contemporary, commercial, and social dance training with a Caribbean perspective.

You’ll start with an energetic fun and sweaty warmup. You’ll then move through to a set of embodied across-the-floor sequences, ending with learning some original choreography delivered by Marikiscrycrycry.

This workshop is designed for those seeking an upbeat and dynamic dance experience. It also welcomes those wanting to pick-up or train new physical skills.

This class is suitable for ages 16 and over. Open to all and relies on a can-do attitude rather than prior physical knowledge and training. Please come in clothes you’re comfortable to dance in and trainers.

This workshop is pay what you can with a minimum payment of £2 and a suggested guidance (but no obligation) of £5.

Watch Goner by Marikiscrycrycry

A live, suspenseful choreography delving into the depths of psychological horror. Exploring alienation, migration, violence and more, it crafts radical visual culture from the marginalised perspective and engages a new Black tradition of horror in live performance.
