It is back to school season and our Centre for Advanced Training are hosting some great opportunities for both young people and teachers to get back into the groove after the summer break.

Jump Start

These creative dance experiences are for children in key stage 2, aged 7 – 11 years old across Nottingham. These classes aim to nurture young people who have potential and ambition in dance.

Classes take place on Mondays during school term-time. A discount price is available to those living or attending primary schools in Sneinton or St Anns areas in Nottingham.

GetSet

GetSet is a series of FREE monthly workshops for ages 11 – 17 years old curious about dance and want to gain more confidence and experience.

In a friendly and supportive environment, the workshops will give you the opportunity to learn more about the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) scheme and get to know the CAT team. The workshops can prepare you for our annual auditions which take place each summer.

Each workshop will have an invited guest teacher specialising in different styles and practices. Whatever your previous experience with dance you can take part in all or some of the sessions, which include but are not limited to, introducing contemporary dance techniques and creative skills, house, popping, locking and hip-hop dance styles.

CPD Workshops

Primary School

An afternoon workshop aimed at those teaching within primary education settings.

This session will give teachers a toolkit of creative dance activities to use with children and young people and explore how you can incorporate dance into your curriculum.

Suitable for non-specialists as well as those with some dance experience.

Light refreshments will be included.

Secondary School

Delivered by Boy Blue this CPD workshop will equip participants with a choreographic toolkit to support working creatively with young people.

Aimed at Secondary level teachers, specialist and non-specialists, and independent dance artists leading sessions with young people.

Lunch and refreshments are included.
