What do we say about the present moment – the moment we’re in now, together? We can characterise it as one of uncertainty, of terrible danger and of possibility.

Perhaps what we are faced with is a lack of language. As Slovoj Zizek put it recently to a crowd of New York protesters, ‘We do not have the language to express how we are not free’.

Public Recordings’ new work creates the conditions for this language to emerge as a spontaneous, choral conversation. As the performers begin a dialogue with those that are present what we are saying reveals a vulnerable, funny and courageous humanity that illuminates the radical possibility of a leaderless togetherness.

Co-produced by Dance4 (Nottingham), Festival TransAmeriques (Montreal) and Harbourfront Centre in association with The Power Plant (Toronto).

This Project was performed at part of NEAT festival 2014.
