Dance4 Associate Artist Robert Clark is an established performer and collaborator. As a choreographer he seeks to extend this collaborative interest.

With his focus on the process of communication and undefined by a specific style, Robert with his team, works from a conceptual starting point into the medium that best expresses this exploration of direct study and metaphor.

Amstatten is an allegory on fear and confinment. A subliminal play that contrasts performer Louise Tanoto’s inner psychological landscape with the imposition of a reduces and restricted physical space.

Accompanied by a stark and geometric lighting design by acclaimed lighting designer Guy Hoare Amstetten draws on stories of kidnapping and hostage situations taken from news reports over the past 30 years and presents the audience with a beautiful and disturbing representation of the resulting common elements.

In Badlands with a selection  of love songs, and refferencing the films of Terrence Mallick, David Lynch and Guillermo  Del Toro, Robert attempts to create the one thing he feels the dance world truly needs… a real honest love story.
