Wendy Houstoun’s A Pact with Pointlessness: residency performance in progress.

A Pact with Pointlessness is a game of opposites, a play of discrepancies, an urgent text of chaos interrupted by disturbing coherence. All at once, it is author and cipher voicing everything and nothing – ghosted by old time patter, high altitude confusion, empty dramas, hyperlinked reality, breaking news, more breaking news and meaningless movement. It is an all or nothing kind of event. A do or die kind of affair.

You can watch it – or just listen to it.

Wendy is a performer and maker for a generation of artists, bringing a wealth of experience from her own work alongside her collaborations with artists such as the late Nigel Charnock, Lloyd Newson (DV8), Rose English, Gary Stevens as well as Tim Etchells, Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion.

A Pact with Pointlessness follows her highly successful and award winning 50 Acts.

“Hilarious, touching, charming and wise. 50 Acts… marks its creator as one of the most forthright and gifted independent performers of her generation” Donald Hurtera – Dance Magazine

Following this first public showing of A Pact with Pointlessness, there will be a post show discussion with Wendy, chaired by Dance4’s Director Paul Russ.
