Samuel
Samuel was on the Fabric CAT Programme between 2021-24 and is currently in Year 2 of BA (HONS) Contemporary Dance Performance course at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance
“The CAT Programme equipped me with a strong technical foundation alongside the artistic and professional skills needed for the next stage of my training. The programme placed a strong emphasis on artistry, encouraging me to explore movement quality, intention, and individuality rather than just execution.
The support from the DfE grant was amazing for me because I had always been passionate about dance and I wanted to train to improve. However, a barrier was the cost of most places that offered this. Receiving a grant gave me the opportunity to pursue something I now can’t imagine my life without, I am forever so grateful for this.”
Maisie
Maisie was on the East Midlands Fabric CAT Programme between 2018-2021.
“The CAT programme prepared me for vocational training and taught me that I could have a career in contemporary dance, and all the areas that come with that. I’m currently with National Dance Company Wales as part of the Professional placement MA at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
The support from the DfE Grant allowed me to access high quality dance training that I wouldn’t have been able to have without the help. I came from a small village and travelled to Nottingham, so it had a great impact on my education and experience of dance and art”
