Rae Piper
Rae Piper is an award-winning producer and choreographer, whose versatile creative work draws on an extensive performance career. Rae has danced, sung, and acted in London’s West End, at Sadler’s Wells, the Royal Opera House, and internationally in Europe and America. She is also an aerial acrobat, a current Principal Dancer with Chantry Dance and former contortionist.
Rae started working as a choreographer early alongside her performance career, following her passion for creating innovative and imaginative theatrical works. She met her husband Paul Chantry whilst performing in the West End. In 2012 they founded the contemporary ballet company, Chantry Dance, and now work as the choreographic duo ‘Piper Chantry’.
As one half of ‘Piper Chantry’, Rae’s work includes the award-winning, Olivier-nominated West End productions of David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy. Other notable credits include the UK premiere of The Last Days of Mankind (Bristol Old Vic), Demon Dentist (UK tour), Horrible Histories: Terrible Tudors & Vile Victorians and Horrible Christmas (UK tours), Gloria – A Pigtale (Royal Opera House), The Merry Widow and Die Fledermaus (Royal Festival Hall).
Rae’s work as film producer includes producing and starring in Whoever You Are directed by Javier De Frutos, which has won multiple awards at international film festivals including Best Producer, Best Indie Short, and Best Experimental Short and received its European premiere in Paris at Les Beaux Arts, and its US premiere in Hollywood at Raleigh Studios in September 2022
