Jane Mason is a choreographic artist, maker, performer, collaborator and facilitator.
She has collaborated with varied artists including: Jules Maxwell, Sonia Hughes, David Williams, Sophia Clist, Lone Twin, Blind Ditch, Jason Singh, Quarantine, Grace Surman, Phil Smith and with Candoco in Jeanine Durning’s Last Shelter.
Jane’s relationship with Fabric is rooted in a long history with Dance4 and their ongoing interest working in bespoke community contexts with the public. Projects include: choreographing Lone Twin’s ‘Street Dance’ Nottdance (2009), ’A dance at Home’ commissioned by Dance4 and the Commission Collective (2015) and facilitating a creative development staff team project for Dance4 (2016-2017).
‘As I get older I am even more drawn to the wonders and inherent stories in a person’s individual physicality. There is so much going on when a person is moving. I try to bring my fullest self to the creative spaces I’m in, repeatedly discovering that our bodies are extraordinary mediums for insight and learning.’
