We believe that time to research in a studio with reduced barriers is vital to art-making.
We engage in various residency opportunities, as well as offering a year round residency programme to provide artists based in the UK with funding, space, and staff time to explore new ideas and support the realisation of projects.
Reflecting our ambitious vision, our residency programme is part of our strategy to improve the working conditions of artists and to invest in new research and creation that will engage and resonate with audiences in fresh and different ways.
At Fabric we strive to make our artist residencies accessible and inclusive, and to create working conditions that centre the care and dignity of all. You can find more information about our access support for artists in residence below.
Please join our mailing list to be kept up to date with future opportunities.
International residencies
We support artist-to-artist cultural exchanges both in England and abroad.
As well as collaborating and sharing practice, the artists share an understanding of the context in which they work and make introductions to relevant professionals and presenters locally.
