A new residency programme was initiated through open calls and support artists to realise new ideas and projects.

The residency opportunity for 2022-2023 offered 7 artists/companies support in two strands. Open Research – for research into new ways of thinking about and doing dance, movement, and choreography. And Create – for projects that have already undertaken research and development processes and could benefit from a residency to support the final stages of creation.

Details of all 7 artists and projects are listed below

Open Research Residency Artists

This opportunity is for research into new ways of thinking about and doing dance, movement, and choreography with an emphasis on ideas that need time and space to explore, test and develop, rather than the creation of new work.

Create Residency Artists

This opportunity is for projects that have already undertaken research and development processes and could benefit from a residency to support the final stages of creation. All of these include public showcasing and future touring work supported by a range of additional partners and funders.
