Play, Progress and Pathways with Corali Dance Company
Sat 12th Oct 2024, 1:00pm
Saturday
As part of FABRIC’s commitment to talent development for disabled young people, we are excited to bring Corali back to the Midlands to work with a younger range of dancers.
Following on from a successful engagement in the East Midlands in collaboration with People Dancing, FABRIC is delighted to bring Corali Dance Company, one of the UK’s leading inclusive dance companies, to the West Midlands for this exciting afternoon of dance. In June 2024, Corali co-led a ‘Leadership in Action’ symposium for learning disabled dance leaders and a ‘Learning to Take the Lead’ workshop for artists.
The workshop will be open to disabled young people aged 14 and over and will include a technique session with company dancer, Paul and a creative choreography session with DJ. There will be a Q&A moment at the end for participants to ask Paul and DJ any questions about how they got to where they are.
Alongside the practical sessions, we are facilitating an adjoining discussion-based afternoon for dance leaders and organisations to learn from each other, brainstorm ideas and action plan towards a future where the Midlands is a leader in talent development and progression pathways into dance.

The day is suitable for disabled dancers* aged 14 to 30 and supporting dance leaders aged 18 and over.

* When using the term ‘disabled dancers’ we mean this to include but not be limited to, people who define as D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, or who are chronically ill, have a learning disability or live with impairments or mental health conditions. We also understand that our terminology and language may not fully represent or be the preferred descriptive definition for all individuals who define as having a disability, condition or impairment.
