Are you ready to make your feet your instrument? This Tap Open class is great for anyone wanting to learn the rhythm, the style and the joy of tap.
Whether you’re a beginner or returning to the styke, this energetic, rhythm-focused class offers a welcoming space to learn, grow, and have fun.
Each session begins with a dynamic warm-up designed to strengthen the ankles, articulate the feet, and develop clarity of sound. You’ll progress through exercises that build coordination, timing, and musicality while learning essential tap skills such as shuffles, flaps, riffs, and time steps. As you grow more confident, you’ll explore intricate rhythms and combinations that challenge your precision and creativity.
Expect supportive community vibes as you transform beats into movement. Classes are structured to support dancers of all levels, from those seeking a solid foundation to more experienced tappers wanting to refine technique or expand their repertoire.
With music ranging from hip hop and jazz to contemporary styles, every session is designed to feel fresh.
We finish each class with a fun combination or short routine that brings everything together, encouraging expression and confidence.
Suitable for ages 16 and over.
*If you have Tap shoes, please bring them with you; if not, wear shoes with a hard sole and you can chat with the tutor about tap shoe options after your class.

Rikkai Scott
Born and raised in Bermuda, Rikkai Scott began his dance journey at the age of four, training in tap and hip hop. His passion for movement led him to London in 2009, where he completed a full-time scholarship at London Contemporary Dance School, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts.
Rikkai’s performance career spans an impressive range of companies and collaborators, including De Kiss Moves Fusion Dance Company (Amsterdam), Avant Garde Dance, Boy Blue Entertainment, Michaela Cisarikova Dance Collective, Jean Abreu Dance, James Cousins Company, Arlene Phillips, Motionhouse, and Highly Sprung Performance.
Known for his distinctive dance-theatre style, Rikkai blends tap, hip hop, contemporary movement, and elements of humour to explore everyday experiences in honest and revealing ways. His work draws from real life, using personal narratives to inspire meaningful creative expression.
In 2016, Rikkai founded Rhythmflow, marking the beginning of his choreographic journey. His first outdoor film piece, Watch This Space, was commissioned by Artists 4 Artists, Southbank Centre, and the Bermuda Festival. He has since expanded his creative portfolio with film work including TAPOUT, created with Alice Underwood and winner of TheArtists Creative Film Award (2021). Rikkai also debuted the duet SENSE, which was commissioned by Bermuda Cultural Affairs and toured the UK, Bermuda, and Valencia.
