Dance, Humour, Timing Workshop with Silvia Gribaudi

How does dance meet humour? What makes us laugh in dance? Can we dance humour?

In this workshop, Silvia Gribaudi invites participants to explore physical and performative tools that foster a deeper awareness of the performer’s comic potential, while refining their sense of rhythm, timing, and presence in movement.

Together, participants will investigate choreographic strategies for sustaining laughter within a physical score, allowing humour to become an active and integral part of the dancing body rather than an interruption to it.

The workshop draws on the choreographic research Silvia has been developing since 2009, centred on the rich and fertile intersection of dance and comic timing. Through movement, experimentation, and play, participants will discover how humour can open new possibilities for performance, connection, and expression.
