ODC21: Dance & The Outdoors Symposium

The ODC21: Dance & The Outdoors Symposium was a two-day digital conference devised and produced by  101 Outdoor Arts and The Place in partnership with DanceXchange (now Fabric) producers of BIDF. It brought together practitioners, producers and presenters of outdoor dance to explore how artists are creating work for public space.

The symposium looked at a range of practice in locations from urban to rural and in contexts that range from touring to site-specific to participant-led. Some of Europe’s most exciting choreographers and companies took part in panel sessions that aimed to shine a spotlight on the wealth of outdoor dance practice. We explored how this distinctive yet diverse field contributes to the development of dance – bringing new audiences and new approaches and creating interventions that transform and disrupt our relationship with the world around us.
